Enzymes Analysis Services

Enzymes are major metabolites formed in living organisms. They regulate the speed at which a chemical reaction proceed without changing the chemical reaction itself. Enzymes are involved in almost all types of metabolic cycles. Without enzymes, many reactions would not take place at a perceptible rate. For example, the digestion of food, in which large nutrient molecules (such as proteins, carbohydrates, and fats) are broken down into smaller molecules. In addition, many inherited diseases, such as albinism and phenylketonuria, are caused by the lack of a specific enzyme.

Enzymes are widely employed in various fields. In the food industry, they are involved in wine fermentation, bread fermentation, cheese curdling and beer brewing. In the medicine industry, they are used to kill disease-causing microorganisms, promote wound healing, and diagnose certain diseases. Enzymes are also used in biofuel industry, paper industry, personal care, and others.

Most of the commercially available, industrially useful and therapeutic enzymes are derived from microorganisms. Therefore, the qualitative and quantitative analysis of enzymes in microorganisms are critical for the commercial applications of enzymes. Alfa Chemistry has the ability to offer professional enzymes analysis services.

Our Service Scope

Enzymes can be easily recognized by their catalytic reactions. Hence, enzymes analysis is based on measurement of formation of product or disappearance of substrate. Alfa Chemistry has a team of highly skilled Ph.D. and M.S. biochemist with rich research and development experience. We provide analysis services for various enzymes. These enzymes include, but limited to the following.

  • Ligases, such as ubiquitin ligase, glutamate-cysteine ligase, and cobalt chelatase.
  • Hydrolases, such as protease, lipase, nuclease, phosphatase, peptide lyase, and helicase.
  • Oxidoreductases, such as aromatase, choline oxidase, laccase, dihydrofolate reductase, and glutathione reductase.
  • Lyases, such as decarboxylase, threonine aldolase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, aldolases, and isocitrate lyase.
  • Transferases, such as methyltransferase, aspartate carbamoyl transferase, aminotransferase, and acyltransferase.
  • Isomerases, such as methionine racemase, tartrate epimerase, chalcone isomerase, alanine racemase, and linoleate isomerase.

Precautions of Enzymes Analysis

Some precautions during enzymes analysis are listed below.

  • The solution to dilute the enzymes should be freshly prepared before use.
  • Enzymes samples should be kept on ice to avoid loss of enzymes activity.
  • The dilutions of enzymes should be prepared in assay buffer only.
  • Clean glass tubes, microtips, and pipettes without any detergent residue should be used.
  • Every experiment should be done in triplicate at a time.
  • The fresh microtips or glass pipettes should be used for pipetting.
  • Labeling should be done using permanent glass marker.
